I am still trying to learn about the many uses/applications of DC's in the classroom. So this takes the place of a video camera? How does the quality compare? I would LOVE to see a list of the many and varied uses. I think when most people (including myself) think of using a DC we think of "instead of an overhead." I know there is SO much more, but don't know all the right questions to ask! Connecting/recording directly to a USB flashdrive sounds slick!

I got to see one of these today when our local Aver representative came by to demo the smart pens... I like the fact that the USB and microphone are there.. but I'd rather have the gooseneck than the mechanical arm... but that's just me... I did LOVE the pens.. and can't wait to get mine and get started using them!!

I love the idea of being able to record right to a flashdrive! Why did they go with the mech. arm over the gooseneck though? Any particular reason?

Am I allowed to be jealous at this new updated technology when I have the CP300? I still cannot get my external microphone to record and connect with the camera for lessons.. Ahhh guess I need to win a new one :)

Hi jodifarbs,
sorry your CP300 does not record audio or video directly to the doc cam :( Basically, you will need to record video through the software. To add audio to it, the software will look for a microphone device on your computer since there is no mic on the doc cam. As long as you have a mic on your computer and it is turned on, it will record the audio with the video. Hope this helps! quote: |

I am extremely jelous of you too! I would love to have a DC. The teachers who do have a DC in their classroom are so lucky. The students are quickly engaged and are able to see how new technology works. I think it is great teaching our students with 21st century equipment.
