Hi -
You can use your CP300 with Skype. Be sure to have the USB cable from the doc cam connected to your computer. After you launch Skype, click on Tools in the Skype toolbar. Go to Options, and then select Video Settings. In the drop down menu you'll find the AverMedia doc cam listed, click and save, and then save again. close the window and it should work for you. Just a side note: I am currently using a MacBook running Windows XP and it has crashed on my a couple of time before. However, when I was running a Windows only laptop I did not experience any issues. Please post and let the forum users know if you had any issues. Thanks! FYI - If you are using Windows, I will be testing the network settings and capabilities found within the Aver+ software today. If all works out, you won't need to use Skype with your doc cam other than using Skype for your audio. |

How cool that you can use this with Skype! I work for a special education cooperative and our classrooms are spread out among many different school buildings. I would definitely use a document camera to take advantage of Skype so that our students can interact with each other even though there is a distance that separates us.

I wonder if I could get my other teachers to do this with me?? It would be very cool to try it out ~ but none of them have their doc cams hooked up to their computers ~ grrrr.
I am interested in learning to Skype, but nervous to try it out for the first time! |

Skype would be awesome to use for pen pal programs. To allow students to meet the individual or the individual's class that they have been writing to. If you could find pen pals from another county with Skype, each class could present information about their culture to the other class using Skype.

Great use of Skype and the document camera! Your students will remember that for a lifetime.

When I wanted to skype with my co-workers in different buildings I just had to bite the bullet and set it all up myself and then walk them through it slowly. Once they got it working, they loved it and now they can't get enough. |

Our school has a few foreign exchange students. I didn't know you can use the document camera with Skype. I don't have a document camera, but a few co-teachers do. I will be passing on the good news. |
